Many of you may know Keke Palmer from her hit role in the movie "Akeelah and the Bee" or Tyler Perry's movie "Madea's Family Reunion" or maybe even from her most popular work in the TLC movie "Crazy, Sexy, Cool." Well now she is making history!
Keke Palmer has made history for becoming the youngest talk show host in television history. The 20 year old new show on BET began Monday June 30th and will run daily Monday through Friday at 5 pm.
Palmer says her show will let teens express their self in a way no other has. It will give them them a chance to really say what they want to without being judged. According to http://blackamericaweb.com , Palmer said,
“I know one of the main reasons I wanted to do the show not even just for me, but just for the simple fact that I wanted to have conversations that weren't being had. We can talk about crazy, ratchet stuff or talk about things that are completely over the surface, we can talk about things that really matter or that we’re really curious about. Sex, social issues whatever it may be, no one really has a place to really say it or the person that’s saying it doesn't really get it. This is a place where we can all talk and have a sense of community and not judge one another but actually come to an understanding of things together and at the same time.”
On the first episode a cypher took place. So far her guest has been Raven, Lil Mama, Kevin Hart and probably her all time favorite, a surprise guest from her man crush Michael Ealy.
That moment of the show had to have been my favorite, when Ealy walked out Keke ran and almost jumped over the couch on stage. She expressed her feels for him in front of everyone. I feel like that moment to me was "priceless."
In my opinion the show could have been a lot better, it seemed there was too much going on and a little unorganized. But, I do feel it will get a lot better, as time goes on. I have a lot of respect for Keke being that we are around the same age, she has accomplished a lot at such a young age. Making history while still being humble is amazing. You never hear anything bad about her, and I feel that is a major deal being that most 20+ year olds that are in the lime light are in the light for all the wrong reasons.
With that being saying I have always respected her and, I personally will be tuned in every Mon-Fri on BET to check it out.
