Students at Jackson State University filled the Rose .E. MCcoy auditorium to support justice for Nissan workers "Fight for Justice". Actor and Humanitarian Danny Glover along with Hip Hop artist Common graced the stage to encourage students to tweet #choosejustice and #istandfornissanworkers in support of Nissan workers. This free even was held on Friday March 21, 2014 at 7 pm.
Danny Glover is a huge advocate for Nissan workers of the plant located in Canton Ms. Local artist in Jackson Ms, attended the event, rapper Slimm Pusha, along with JSU's vey own Outspoken continued to speak out, and urge Nissan workers to stop unfair treatment of their workers.
A special appearance from P. Diddy via Skype in New York City, shocked everyone. Diddy invited students to join the rally being held in NYC. Students enjoyed themselves at the free event, their was dancing, poetry, and speeches from current Nissan workers.
I myself was touched by the words being spoken by the workers. I never knew how much and how little they got paid. Their treatment is so cruel and unfair. I personally feel no one should be treated that way.

Workers at the Canton plant estimate that as many as 4 in 10 of all the employees there are Kelly temporaries. To be eligible for the lavish subsidies it has received, Nissan, as per promises it made, should be paying 125 percent or more of the average state wage to its workers. That amounts to a minimum of $19.75 an hour. But the average wage at the Canton plant is far less because it is brought down by the hiring of so many temporaries.
Workers at Nissan’s Canton plant are demanding the ability to hear both sides of the issue equally instead of only anti-union information from the company, and the right to have a free and fair organizing election. Glover and students detailed tactics Nissan is using in its anti-union campaign, and also called upon Nissan to:

- Honor the UAW Fair Election Principles
- Apologize for and retract statements made to workers implying that the plant will close or lose product if they vote to organize
- Agree to give UAW supporters equal time to show videos, hold one-on-one meetings and group meetings with workers for the same amount of time the company has spent having anti-union meetings in the past year
- Agree not to hold meetings on company time unless union supporters have equal time to meet with workers
